Baltimore Orioles and Birdbath

Here is some more Baltimore Oriole art. It was inspired by photos my sister sent me of the orioles she has in her backyard. I like the contrast of the orange, black and white colors on the birds.  I think the blue flowers compliment them beautifully.

This is created as an 8 x 10 print, making it easy to buy the print and frame it yourself.

This file can also be bought to use as a background from Dreamstime

As a greeting card:

Summer Flower Arrangement

This art was digitally recreated from a photo I took of one of my silk flower arrangements. I like the bright cheery colors and keep them in my kitchen.

Baltimore Orioles and Cabin on Hill

This art was inspired by some photos that my sister sent me. She puts jelly out in her backyard for the Baltimore Orioles and was able to snap some pictures of them indulging their sweet tooth.

It was rather challenging getting the markings in the wings just right, but I am quite happy with the way it turned out.

Web and Graphic designers can buy this file as a background at Dreamstime.

Thinking of You Orange Poppy-Like Flower Card

This card design is one of my best sellers on Greeting Card Universe. I took a picture of this beautiful red orange "poppy-like" flower growing in my mom's garden a few years ago. I tried several different backgrounds but was not happy with the results until I tried a black background.

Dare to Imagine Turquoise and Gold Tree

Our imagination is a gift from God, but like anything else, we can neglect to use it or even use it to our detriment. We can use it to worry and think bad thoughts or we can use it visualize a good outcome.

It usually takes focus and concentration to use our imagination in a positive way. I like to go into a quiet room, close my eyes and focus on a specific question or meditate on a Bible verse.

Green and Purple Floral Art with Scripture

Psalm 37:4 is one of my favorite scriptures. I believe that speaking scriptures is a powerful way to change things, so whenever I get to the place where I don't "feel" like praying or praising God, I walk around declaring, "I delight myself in the Lord, I delight myself in the Lord ..."

I can't say that I instantly get excited about praising God, but eventually the desire does come back.

Stone Love Wall and Birds

The nest so close to the ground, reminds me of the time my dad was cutting weeds along the fence line with an old fashioned weed whacker. My brothers and I were tagging behind him. Suddenly a mother bobwhite quail and her babies came rushing out of the weeds. We all stopped and watched in awe as they walked through the field.

Growing up on the farm, I used to hear the bobwhite call every summer but I have not heard them for over 25 years.

Pair of Cardinals and Nest Notecard

This is my latest card design uploaded to Greeting Card Universe. I'm thinking these cardinal  notecards would make great gifts. Envision 6 of these with the envelopes and a coordinating pen put in a pretty vellum bag and tied with ribbon.

Bluebirds and Wooden Hope with Scripture

This is on of my favorite Bible scriptures. God has a plan for my life and it's good!

The NIV Bible says it this way, " ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ "

In the religion I was in while growing up, we were taught that if anything tragic happened, it was the will of God. Well, according to John 10:10, the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy, not God.  Life got so much better when I realized, God was not the one causing all those bad things to happen.

Bible Study Outside with Nature

This is one of my favorite ways to study and read- outside with nature and a cup of tea. Growing up on the farm, we had a lot of grassy, wooded areas and it was easy to sneak away and sit in the tall grass and contemplate life.  Today, living in town, I often settle for a folding chair setting in the driveway but at least I'm outside.

White Quilt on Clotheline

I am reminded of the days, my mom and I washed the sheets and bedding and hung them out on
the line to dry.

Today, I am very happy using a dryer but there are days when I miss having a clothesline.

Oval Image of White Swans on Lake

While washing my hair in the shower one day, I looked down and saw the white plastic swan soap dish sitting on the edge of the tub. I sparked the idea for this swan design. I took a picture,  and used my photo editing program to "cut it out' and add texture to the art.

Love on Clothesline

Who could ever forget the Monday morning wash days? I did not particularly enjoy the days we did laundry, but I do have a lot of memories of hanging up clothes with birds chirping all around me.

This art was created on the computer using a program called Gimp. The grass was created by using a photo of grass and painting it digitally. The letters hanging on the line were made from a photo of some plaid material.
